00:00 juri_hmm. fai uses grub on the CDs. you might be able to make a hardy FAI install that will work.
00:01 juri_er. sorry, i'm a fai-cd user. i forget that others don't do that. :)
01:24 Winkiejuri_: yeah i booted through PXE
01:24 Winkiethe kernel stopped half way through loading, it's not unexpected

09:33 eartoast_Mrfai: ok. as you do not seem to fix the copyright issues, I will file them as "serious" bugs tomorrow.
09:39 Mrfaieartoast_: I ask you again to wait, and please let us discuss this in a real life meeting, for example during the FAI developers workshop.
09:40 eartoast_Mrfai: this is release critical. fai workshop will be too late for lenny.
09:41 lazyb0yeartoast_: only if you make it release critical :)
09:41 eartoast_read through the arguments also given by other developers on the fai-devel list.
09:42 eartoast_lazyb0y: well, serious license issues are policy violations.
09:42 lazyb0yI offered you both mediation in private email to solve the issue, but you didn't even reply - not exactly very friendly, isn't it?
09:42 lazyb0yeartoast_: I mean it depends how the copyright-owner, that is undoubtedly you, handles the issue
09:43 lazyb0yyou act like its not just because your personaly want but because of debian rulkes or whatever,m but it's clearly the former
09:43 eartoast_its both.
09:44 lazyb0yyes, it's both, and I agree, and never said something against that your claims are incorrect
09:44 eartoast_lazyb0y: sorry that i did not answer your pm :(
09:45 lazyb0ybut in repcect to the work of the whole team, the timing is bad
09:45 Mrfaieartoast_: It's not too late during the FAI workshop, because such bugs can be fixed at any time. Even a week before the final release. So please wait and give us all the chance to discuss this is real life.
09:46 lazyb0yeartoast_: o.k.: i took that as lacking interest to talk friendly about the issue - maybe it was only lack of time or something else...
09:47 lazyb0yBTW "never said something against that your claims are incorrect"  is wrong - I mean, your claims are valid basically :)
09:47 eartoast_Mrfai: we had discussed this in the past, so what is there still to be discussed? read through the arguments given on the dev list;
09:48 eartoast_lazyb0y: well. lack of time is the basic issue; i had to organize moving 2 full racks to another server room :(
09:49 lazyb0yo.k. guys, I have to leave for some hours - I invite you to organize a conference call "under 6 eyes" to talk about this - please send me time proposals, at best today or this week, so we can talk half an hour about this!
10:05 h01gerMrfai, the release team really doesnt want to go review unneeded changes. if you can do a change today, do it now, and dont put load on the release team by making them review a change which you could do now
siggg (~jean@tra78-5-88-172-128-32.fbx.proxad.net) left irc: Remote host closed the connection
Action: h01ger doesnt really see what needs to be discussed here in a conference call. i agree, we should discuss the general handling at some other point of time, but for the copyright notes eartoast demands, there is nothing to discuss about. IMO

In my hdd(16GB), the first partition is a primary ntfs(4GB), setup_harddisk try allocate 3-32499 for the size, i think is a problem with geometry of disk, default in windows the segment is 255 and linux is 16, i try to modify it to the setup_harddisk but i don't know where exactly i can modify it
17:17 snoopthe fai log message is : "Use of uninitialized value in multiplication (*) at /usr/sbin/setup_harddisk line 1020, <FILE> line 2
